Alternatives

Teal alternatives, and when you do not need one

Teal is a resume builder and job tracker with one of the most generous free plans in the category. We make MatchRadar, one of the tools below, so weigh this page with that in mind. Every fact about the other products comes from their own pages, read on 30 September 2026 and linked under the table.

What Teal does well

Teal's free plan is permanent and broad: unlimited resumes and unlimited job tracking, with a limited allowance of AI credits. Teal+ removes the limits for $13 per 7 days, $29 per 30 days or $79 per 90 days, and can be cancelled at any time.

Around the builder sits a tracker, a Chrome extension for saving postings, application autofill and a Job Matcher that compares a resume with a job you choose, by keyword. Teal also has a job search over listings from employers' applicant tracking systems, with filters and saved-search alerts sent instantly or daily.

That last part is worth being precise about. Teal's help pages describe the alerts as saved searches with filters. Nothing we read says the jobs are chosen by reading your resume. It is a good search you define, not a match built from your CV.

When another tool fits better

No tool here is a superset of the others. Each alternative is better at one thing Teal does not set out to do.

  • You want more resume templates and a cheaper yearly price: Kickresume
  • Applying is the slow part: Huntr for tailoring and autofill, Simplify for autofill on a free plan
  • You are being filtered out by applicant tracking systems: Jobscan
  • Finding the jobs is the slow part and you want them chosen from your CV: Simplify or MatchRadar

The alternatives, one by one

Kickresume is a resume and cover-letter builder with a free plan of four basic templates and unlimited downloads. Premium is €24 a month, €54 a quarter or €96 a year. It also has a job board and an AI Job Matcher that invites you back for new matches every day, in the app.

Huntr is a tracker and resume-tailoring tool. The free plan tracks up to 100 jobs, includes two tailored resumes and unlimited application autofills; Pro is $40 a month, $90 for three months or $160 for six. It does not describe finding jobs for you.

Jobscan checks a resume against a job description for applicant tracking systems. Five scans a month are free; the paid plans are $49.95 monthly or $89.95 a quarter. Its Auto Apply finds matching jobs on 20+ applicant tracking platforms for you to approve, paid in credits.

Simplify started as a free autofill extension and now also recommends jobs in a daily feed, with match e-mails you can set to daily or weekly. It lists ten countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain. Simplify+ is $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $89.99 for three months; its fully automatic Autopilot is a beta for some paying members.

Where MatchRadar fits, and where it does not

MatchRadar only does the finding. You upload one CV and confirm your preferences once, and every weekday at 08:30 it e-mails the new postings that fit, each with the requirements you meet, the partial ones and the gaps. It reads employers' own career sites in Europe and the US, the EU's EURES register and a few aggregators, and it never applies for you. You can also paste one posting for a fit check, 35 a month.

It has no resume builder, no tracker beyond saving a card, no extension and no autofill, so it replaces none of what Teal is best at. The two work well together: MatchRadar decides which postings deserve an application, Teal builds and tracks it. The head-to-head is on MatchRadar vs Teal, and the free preview shows this week's matches for your CV without an account.

Common questions

Is there a free Teal alternative?

Teal's own free plan is the most generous here. Huntr, Kickresume, Simplify and Jobscan all have free plans too, each limited in a different place; compare the limit that would bind you.

Does Teal find jobs based on my resume?

Teal has a job search with saved-search alerts, sent instantly or daily. Its help pages describe these as filters you set, not as matches chosen from your resume.

Can I use Teal with MatchRadar?

Yes. MatchRadar sends the postings worth applying to, and Teal is where you tailor the resume and track the application. Neither depends on the other.

Are these prices current?

They were read from each vendor's own pages on 30 September 2026 and are linked under the table. Vendors change prices without notice, so check the source before you buy.
