MatchRadar

Comparison

MatchRadar vs Teal

Teal is a resume builder and job tracker with an unusually generous free tier. MatchRadar is a weekday scan that produces an explained shortlist. The overlap is smaller than the category names suggest, and the difference is who does the finding.

Teal starts after you have found the job

Teal's workflow begins with a bookmark. You find a posting somewhere else, save it with the Chrome extension or add it by hand, and Teal then helps you tailor a resume to it, extract its keywords and track the application through its stages.

That is a real and well-executed job, and its free tier covers a lot of it: unlimited resumes, unlimited job tracking, and a fixed allowance of job-description keyword matches.

What it does not do is decide which postings should be on the list in the first place. Teal is a management tool for a search you are already conducting.

MatchRadar starts before you have found it

MatchRadar reads one CV and the preferences you confirm during setup, then scans fresh postings each weekday against them. What arrives is a short list with the reasoning attached — not a feed, and not everything that matched a keyword.

The explanation is the point rather than the score. A posting can score well because it matches your core work and poorly because it sits a level above you, and those are different decisions. The email separates met, partial and missing requirements so you can disagree with it.

One thing on the paid plan is not software at all: twice a year a person reads your CV and tells you what to change. Teal has no equivalent, and neither does anything else on this page.

What MatchRadar does not do, and Teal does

Teal's whole surface area on the application side is absent here, and if that is where your time goes then Teal is the tool to buy.

  • No resume builder, templates or design mode
  • No per-application resume tailoring or keyword integration
  • No AI cover letters or professional summaries
  • No application tracker, stages, notes or email templates — save and dismiss inside the radar is the whole of it
  • No Chrome extension for saving postings you found elsewhere

The free tiers are not comparable, and that is the point

Teal's free plan is permanent and broad but metered on the AI features: a fixed number of job-description keyword matches and a small pool of AI credits, with everything unlimited on Teal+.

MatchRadar's free period is seven days of the paid plan, no card, and then it ends. One thing is held back from it on purpose: the two human CV reviews a year need a plan somebody is actually paying for, because seven free days plus one month would otherwise buy an hour of a person's time for the price of a month. There is no permanently free version, which is a deliberate choice rather than an omission: the scan costs real money to run every night whether or not anyone opens the email.

Compare them on what you would still be using in month three, not on what you can access in week one.
